Pushing a DSC configuration to multiple servers

So far, we've seen various things we can do with DSC, but we've been doing them all on the server itself, and we've been doing it with a bunch of long-winded commands. In this recipe, we'll look at how we can apply a DSC configuration to multiple servers at the same time, and how we can do it from our Windows 10 machine so that we don't need to log on to each one of our servers manually to apply it.

Getting ready

For this, you'll need a Windows 10 computer and at least two servers to apply the DSC configuration to. We've been using a server called web03 for the previous recipes, so I'm going to extend this to web01 and web02 as well—for a total of three servers.

It's important that the servers you choose to do this on are not running anything for production, as this could potentially remove or break production websites running the servers.
