Personification of computers

Personification is defined by Oxford Dictionaries as follows:

The attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/personification).

We are not new to the personification of computers. Attempts to create personalities for computers, with the goal of attributing them with human characteristics, go way back to Hal 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey (as mentioned in Chapter 1, Conversational UI is our Future), R2-D2 and C-3PO from Star Wars, and Pixar's WALL-E. Other more tragic robots include the Terminator or Edward from Edward Scissorhands.
