Technical requirements
The Nonlinear Animation editor is well suited for combining multiple actions in a single character animation. To try that out, create a new project featuring our favorite character rig, Rain, as we’ve done in every character animation exercise since Chapter 6.
In addition, we’ll need two actions that are suitable for combining. If you completed the exercises in Chapter 8 and Chapter 9 and saved your work, then you’ve already got two such actions, a lip-syncing action, and a walk-cycle action:
Figure 14.1: Rain walking, Rain talking
Using the Nonlinear Animation editor, we will non-destructively combine these actions to have Rain walk and talk at the same time.
