More fun with Noise modifiers
I hope you’re learning something from these exercises because I’ll admit it – this is a boring animation. Who wants to watch a stupid clock, even for 10 seconds? What is this – some sort of avant-garde media installation? Are we at the Tate Modern?!
How about we add some excitement to our little project? Something like… an EXPLOSION just off-camera. That would certainly shake things up a bit.
Using a Noise modifier to simulate an explosion
By default, the Noise modifier is very noisy, causing animated objects to behave erratically. That’s not necessarily a bad thing! Using additional Noise modifiers with different settings, we can cause the camera to shake dramatically as if rocked by an explosion outside the frame.
Go ahead and add a new one now:
- Add another Noise modifier to the camera’s Z Euler Rotation F-curve.
- On this new modifier, leave the Scale as is, but turn Strength down...
