Every organization has an onus to protect its own data, and also customer data. In the case of the healthcare industry, medical facilities must protect sensitive data related to patient biometrics, health records, credit cards, and so on. In the transportation and insurance industries, customers' Personally Identifiable Information (PII) needs to be safeguarded. Unauthorized visibility into machine data can lead to sensitive technical information leakage, which can be misused against the organization that owns the data.
