The control of access to data and functionalities is extremely important in any system. The CDS has a powerful and flexible security model that can be configured to meet many different security requirements.
Security is controlled by different products, such as the following:
- Azure Active Directory (AD) handles the authentication of users.
- Office 365 and Azure AD manage users and their licenses.
- Access to environments can be restricted in the Power Platform admin center.
- CDS databases manage security, authorizing the use of data and services within applications.
Security in the Power Platform and CDS is provided by multiple layers, all aimed at ensuring users can only access the apps, features, and data they need and no more. The following diagram shows the layers of security in the Power Platform:
