Using Dataflows to extract and transform data

Power Platform Dataflows is a cloud-based extract, transform and load (ETL) tool that you can use to extract and shape data for use in Power BI.

Dataflows are created in the Power BI service. To create a dataflow, you must click on the Dataflows tab in a Power BI workspace:

To create a new dataflow, click on + Create in the action bar and select Dataflow, as shown in the preceding screenshot. A new dataflow page will be shown that provides four options, as shown in the following screenshot:

To extract data from the Common Data Service, click on the Add new entities button. Clicking on this button makes a list of data sources to choose from appear, including the Common Data Service, as shown here:
