Portal websites are available on the internet to the public and users can anonymously browse the website. To gain access to data, a portal user must be associated with a contact record in the CDS.
You can invite a user to the portal by completing these steps from their contact record form:
- Contact: Open the contact record form in a model-driven app.
- Invite the user: Click on Create Invitation in the action bar on the contact record. This opens a new page where you can specify the details of the invitation. Click Save and a unique invitation code is generated.
- Add a web role: Each portal user needs a web role that contains the privileges and data access settings. Under Assign to Web Roles in the invitation record, click on Add Existing Web Role and select the Authenticated Users web role.
