You may need to perform a calculation using one or more fields on your entity. You can create a calculated field that contains a calculation using fields from the entity and fields from entities where there is a many-to-one relationship.
When you create a field, it is a simple field. This means you can enter data into it. You can create a calculated field by clicking on + Add | + Calculation in Figure 3.22. A new window will appear, as shown in the following screenshot:
In this window, you can optionally add a condition to control whether the calculation is performed, and then add an action to perform the calculation. This example is mathematical. You can also concatenate strings or perform calculations on dates. There are a series of date functions that you can use.
