In this chapter, we have spent a lot of time looking at spoken words and listening to them as well. We learned how to create voices and generate speech in different ways. We took a look at the SSML markup language that defines the characteristics of a voice and of a spoken sentence. Then we implemented this in DirectX, made it spatial, and then moved on to create classes in Unity3D that do the same thing. We created realistic-sounding voices we can use in our apps and put them in reusable assets and packages, so next time we need voices we can just import them. In short, we have made our app more human-like.
