Azure Site Recovery can be replicated from Azure VMs and other workloads, such as Azure file storage between different Azure regions, as well as on-premises VMs, physical (file) servers, and Azure Stack VMs.
Azure Recovery Services offers the following features:
- Site Recovery service: Site Recovery makes sure that your VMs, apps, and workloads are still running during outages. It replicates the workloads running on the machines, both virtual and physical, from a primary to a secondary location. You can fail over to a secondary location when an outage occurs at the primary site. When the primary location is up again, you can fail back to it.
- Backup service: This service keeps your data safe by backing it up to Azure.
