Time for action—dirty bass

Let's try this out using the bass line we just made:

  1. In the Song Editor, use track actions to duplicate the bass line as shown in the following screenshot:

  2. Now mute the other tracks by de-selecting the button directly next to the action button, as shown in the following screenshot:

  3. With the other tracks muted, hit the Space bar to playback the bassline. It should sound exactly the same.
  4. Now open up the LB302 by selecting Default Preset option.
  5. Go to the FX tab. Turn the EFFECTS CHAIN on by selecting the button to the left-hand side of EFFECTS CHAIN. It will light up as shown in the following screenshot:
  6. Now click on Add Effect at the bottom of the FX section, and from the list choose LADSPA DJ EQ.
  7. The controls for the DJ EQ will pop up. Set the knobs as shown in the following screenshot:

  8. Now press play and listen to the bass.
  9. We need another additional layer to this sound. Go to Add Effect and choose the LADSPA C* Cabinet | Loudspeaker cabinet emulation. Use...
