Time for action—delaying those stabs!

Let's get back to the Beat+Bassline Editor and look at our pattern. To do this, simply double-click on the Beat+Bassline element in the Song Editor:

  1. First, let's mute the other elements of our beat. We can do this by soloing the stabby synth, which is the preset instrument just above our acid bass. The solo button is just to the right of the green button that is currently turned on, as shown in the following screenshot:

  2. Now that the instrument is isolated, let's click on the instrument itself to give us the instrument's editor, as shown in the following two screenshots:

  3. Now click the FX tab on the instrument editor, as shown in the following screenshot:

  4. There are effects on this instrument already, but neither of the effects is a delay. Click on Add Effect, and choose Calf Vintage Delay LADSPA.
  5. We now have a sync-able delay. This means it will follow the tempo of the song (as long as our settings are correct)! The following screenshot...
