Chaining web security vulnerabilities


When adversaries target a type of IoT device, multiple vulnerabilities are often used in weaponizing an exploit. These vulnerabilities may be low in criticality by themselves; however, when combined, the exploit impact is much greater. It is not uncommon for a combination of low vulnerabilities to escalate into a critical vulnerability. This is especially important with regard to IoT devices. One critical bug discovered in an IoT device can compromise the integrity of the device. This recipe will cover how to chain web security vulnerabilities together to gain access to a Subaru-connected vehicle without a key fob, car keys, or credentials.
