In this chapter, you learned how to add custom routes and controllers to your Vapor and Kitura applications. For simplicity, in-memory storage was used in both applications, but the controller classes can be later adopted to work with databases, which we will see in Chapter 8, Employing the Storage Framework. Both Vapor and Kitura make their data models conform to the Codable for Encodable and Decodable protocols, making the handling of JSON conversion to data models extremely easy. In the next chapter, you'll continue to build upon the routes and controllers code you have and apply template engines to create and render web pages automatically.
