The project manager and project integration
As a project manager, it is important to make sure that all the pieces of the puzzle come together and are integrated into the final product, service, or result. We all know that, as project managers, being able to integrate multiple processes, people, plans, and results is a critical skill set.
Integration, as an entire knowledge area, encompasses creating a project charter, developing a project management plan, directing and managing project work, managing project knowledge, monitoring and controlling project work, performing integrated change control, and formally closing down the project or phase. Integration is the umbrella over the rest of the knowledge areas and processes.
