In an Internet of Things (IoT) solution, devices send massive amounts of data to Azure for further processing. The IoT Hub is used to connect these devices securely and route the messages from those devices to different resources in Azure for further processing.
The IoT Hub offers the following capabilities:
- Bi-directional communication: It provides bi-directional communication between devices and Azure, such as one-way messaging, file transfer, and request-reply messaging. Devices can send data to Azure IoT Hub, but the IoT Hub can send data to the devices as well. It supports various communication protocols, such as HTTPS, AMQP, and MQTT. It provides built-in declarative message routing to other Azure services.
