Embedding an ArcGIS Online web map in a web page

While creating web apps does allow you to create useful tools to expand the usefulness of your GIS, sometimes it might be overkill. Maybe you just want to create a map showing office locations and display it on your company website. Maybe you are planning a special event and just want to include a map to show the location of the event on the events website. You just don't need a web application.

ArcGIS Online also provides a way for you to easily embed a web map from your ArcGIS Online content into web page. Like creating a web app, it is pretty easy to do. It does help if you know a little about creating a web page for this to work smoothly, specifically, having a basic understanding of HTML, which is the basic language used to create web pages.
