Getting fancy with F-curve modifiers
In this section, we’ll take a look at a couple other F-curve modifiers, along with a handy explanation on how to get the parameters exactly right for clock-like periodicity.
The Stepped Interpolation modifier
Our second-hand animation is missing a couple of key features. For one thing, it doesn’t “tick” like it ought to. The Stepped Interpolation modifier can take care of that:

This modifier “steps” the F-curve so that it only produces movement every certain number of frames. If we edit that number of frames to be the same as our frame rate per second (24
), the second hand of the clock will advance clockwise exactly once every second.
The effect of modifiers “stacks,” so we can add the Stepped Interpolation modifier to the same F-curve, after the existing Generator modifier:
