Handling transactions without Squarespace Commerce


If, for any reason, you can't or don't want to use Stripe and Squarespace Commerce to manage transactions on your website, you can use third-party systems such as PayPal or JustGiving on your site instead. You will need to use an Embed Block to paste the code for your PayPal shopping cart button, or your JustGiving donation button, into any page that accepts blocks. You can use this method to insert code from any third-party service that offers embed codes to customers.

Tip

Some third-party sites allow you to style the buttons to match your site's branding when generating the embed code.

This approach is a workaround, and it means the experience will not be as seamless for your customers, as they will need to visit the third-party site to complete their transaction. You will not be able to set up a proper shop on your site, but you can make standard pages look very similar to product pages, with a little effort in LayoutEngine.
